Having no elevator meant hauling heavy bags up stairs, which was a hassle. The room felt cramped without comfortable seating, and the mattresses weren't great, leading to restless nights. we had to make do. Despite notifying them of dietary restrictions, the meal included unsafe seafood, which was concerning.

A hidden gem in nature's embrace
Our stay at Susukinohara Ichinoyu was a delightful escape. The ambience was tranquil, surrounded by stunning mountain views and the private onsen added to the serene experience. Each meal was a culinary journey, beautifully presented with thoughtful descriptions, making dining an event in itself. We appreciated the warm hospitality, from the cheerful staff to the unlimited drinks available throughout our stay. Waking up to the sound of birds chirping outside our window felt magical.
The location, while wonderfully secluded, posed some challenges. Getting there by bus required navigating some busy routes, and a larger suitcase can be cumbersome. Though we enjoyed the peaceful setting, the distance from major attractions like Hakone-Yumoto meant extra planning to ensure we made the most of our time. The travel to the bus stop did require a brief walk along the road, which may be tricky for those with mobility issues.

Just a strong match for a city break in Hakone with extraordinarily good value for money. The traditional futon beds were surprisingly comfortable and added to the authentic experience. Make sure to ask for directions beforehand to avoid confusion when arriving.

Comfortable stay with amazing views
Check-in was super quick, and we got a room with breathtaking views of the wetlands. The futon was way comfier than expected! The staff in the dining area were really friendly, serving our dishes fast even when busy. One lil' thing, getting there was a bit tricky with our bigger bags since there are no elevators.
